Originated in its modern form by Peter Nicholls
Boats,
the steel inspection launch is available both as
narrow & wide beam. We have built the design
from 30' to 60', the most popular being the 33
footer which is reviewed in an accompanying
article from Canal Boat Magazine,
(view
article here) reproduced with
their kind permission.
One of the most attractive features is that the
helmsman and crew are all together in the bow
cockpit when under way, making for extremely
sociable cruising on one level of the boat.
Small children can be kept an eye on, and
the bow cockpit also doubles as an extra
sleeping accommodation if required.
Noise levels are even lower than normal,
with the engine away from the helm position.
Inside the 33 footer, there are 4 good berths,
making the boat ideal for a couple who are looking
for a comfortable boat for the two of them, with guest
accommodation as and when required.
Handling is superb from the bow steering position,
the folding side cloths to the bow have clear
panels to give visibility when they are rolled down.
The bow cockpit is just right for al fresco meals
or for just watching passing traffic when moored up.
